Make it RAIN...Rain Boots
The Holiday hangover is real and in a time where New Years resolutions are suppose to bring out fresh starts and renewed motivation I have come down with a case of Blogger Block. Or otherwise known as sugar deprivation, (I went a little hard on gingerbread, chocolate toffee's and baguette and have been unsuccessfully trying to kick the habit) thus the F*$&ck's I've given have been minimal and my blogging has taken a back burner. Until now..... THE RAIN!!!! Southern California is getting a well needed burst of inclement stormy weather. This is not just a drizzling, 'let's send a public safety announcement because its a touch breezy' pussy SoCal shit. This is REAL RAIN. I'm a sucker for seasonal fashion. When most people like to have versatile clothing that can be worn from season to season I love the opportunity to purchase the statement leather moto vest I might wear twice in February and then ditch for a jacket because my arms got cold. Thus this so called Stormageddon we are encountering calls for one of my fav footwear to whip out.... RAIN BOOTS!
Clearly I'm not a meteorologist. Quite honestly I don't understand how weather and meteors even relate, but after all this El Nino hype we've been hearing I've got a hunch the rain ain't over. So don't whip out your Nubuck Tod's driving shoes just yet. Currently Mother Nature is giving us a little reprieve from the stormy weather for a few days. What a lady for giving us a minute so we may stock up on our rainy day fashion necessities! Almost all of the high end designers have had a rain boot I've drooled over at one time (that means you Burberry, Gucci, and LV!), but spending six bills on a rubber shoe hurts the soul/sole (like that pun?!) Hunter makes a classic rain boot that is way more approachable for $150 but is still more than I want to spend. BUT here is what I recently discovered when shopping for these bad boys....THE TIME TO BUY IS NOW! The great thing about post holiday sales is that designer rain boots are often already INCLUDED on sale! So although we still have a few more months of rainy weather most stores are ending the winter season and bringing in the beginnings of Spring Fashion. Here are some fabulous rain boot sales currently going on......
J Crew
These Chelsea Rain Boot cutie pies come in black, yellow, a matte green, and this funky cheetah print. They were originally $68 which is still a steal but then went on further reduction for $47! Online has limited inventory but i've still seen these in some of the stores. HURRY NOW!
Gilt
If you haven't shopped Gilt.com your missing the bus on some great designer finds. Gilt always does a great job at curating an abundance of designers and styles at a wide range of prices. There rainboot sale has these Hunter Tall Wellington Rain Boots for $119 as well as a plethora of other stylish rain boot finds. I love these ones in the shiny black and should probably not drag my feet on clicking the purchase button in my shopping cart....
Bloomingdales
Bloomies does sales right. They currently have rain boots from brands like Sperry all the way up the ladder to Burberry and Tory Burch, but these sparkly Kate Spade Sedgewick rain boots have my inner 4 year old jumping for joy. Regularly these are $175 but are now marked down to $105 with additional discounting for Loyalist members. Whether you buy online or on site Bloomingdales has markdowns ALL THE TIME and a great return policy if you have buyers remorse.
I have yet to make a decision on which boot makes the cut. Like a well-hung man with a huge bank account there are just too many options for me to settle with one. So for now I've been rocking these Missoni Rain Boots i purchased a few years ago on super clearance for $80 on Yoox.com. Stay dry and fill us in on your rain boot scores!
